Alliance to Prevent Youth Suicide Champions
Co-chair - Amee Moreno, CPNP-PC/AC
Dr. Amee Moreno is a pediatric nurse practitioner certified in primary and acute care. She is faculty at Baylor University in the DNP program at the Louise Herrington School of Nursing, where she teaches in the Dual Track PNP program. Her clinical background as a nurse is in Pediatric Critical Care, and as an NP is in Pediatric Neurosciences and Rehabilitation. She has served in leadership roles in many settings, including clinical settings, AFPNP, NAPNAP and Baylor University. Dr. Moreno currently serves as President of the Association of Faculties of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (AFPNP). She is passionate about improving the identification of youth who are at risk for suicide and empowering health care professionals in all clinical settings to implement suicide screening practices.
Co-chair - Shawna M. Sisler, PhD, MS, MA, MAPP, RN, C-PNP-PC
Shawna M. Sisler, Ph.D., MS, MA, MAPP, RN, C-PNP-PC, is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing at the University of Utah. Dr. Sisler received her Ph.D. in Nursing Science from the University of Utah, and her RN and MS in Nursing from UCSF. She holds two additional Masters degrees in Applied Positive Psychology and Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania and Santa Clara University, respectively. Dr. Sisler’s scholarly contributions focus on behavioral health integration and social determinants of mental health, particularly in the field of suicidology.
